Trading Card Condition Guide

Quack Pack Collectibles evaluates trading cards using generally recognized collectible card condition standards.

Card grading is subjective. Small differences of opinion may occur between collectors. We make every reasonable effort to accurately describe each card.

Photographs and condition notes should always be reviewed in addition to the listed condition.

Near Mint

Near Mint cards show little to no visible wear.

A Near Mint card may have very minor imperfections that are difficult to notice during normal handling.

Possible characteristics include:

Very minor edge or corner wear

Tiny printing imperfections

Extremely light surface marks

Minor manufacturing defects

The card should otherwise have a clean overall appearance.

Near Mint does not mean professionally graded or perfect.

Lightly Played

Lightly Played cards show minor signs of normal handling or play while remaining attractive and fully usable.

Possible characteristics include:

Minor edge wear

Minor corner whitening

Light surface scratches

Small scuffs

Minor clouding

Minor printing or manufacturing imperfections

Lightly Played cards should not have major creases, significant bends, heavy wear, or severe damage.

Moderately Played

Moderately Played cards show noticeable wear from handling or play.

Possible characteristics include:

Noticeable whitening around edges

Moderate corner wear

Surface scratching

Scuffing

Moderate clouding

Light bends

Small creases

Minor staining

Noticeable overall wear

Cards in this condition remain recognizable and generally usable for normal play.

Heavily Played

Heavily Played cards show substantial wear or damage.

Possible characteristics include:

Heavy edge and corner wear

Significant scratching

Creases

Bends

Surface wear

Staining

Ink marks

Small tears

Water damage

Significant whitening

Other major cosmetic defects

The card should still generally be identifiable and physically intact.

Damaged

Damaged cards have significant defects that go beyond normal heavy play.

Examples may include:

Major tears

Severe creasing

Significant water damage

Large areas of ink or writing

Missing material

Severe bends

Peeling or separation

Major structural damage

Extensive staining

Other serious defects

Damaged cards may still be suitable for collectors, casual play, altered-art projects, or other purposes depending on the buyer's preferences.

Foils

Foil cards may naturally curl or warp over time because of differences between the foil layer and the card stock.

Minor foil curling may be considered when assigning condition, but noticeable or severe curling may result in a lower condition grade.

Foil scratching, clouding, and surface wear are also considered when determining condition.

Photographs and Condition Notes

When photographs or specific condition notes are provided, they are considered part of the item's description.

For higher-value cards, customers are encouraged to carefully review all available photographs before purchasing.
